How to Mine With IP Address?

What is mining agreement?
Bitcoin is a decentralized network system that forwards new transactions and new blocks through nodes. Miners and mining pools also form another network system. This network system is divided into several main parts including miners, mining pools and wallets.

The connection between these network systems is called mining protocol, and the communication protocol between miner and mining pool is stratum, which is called mining URL when presented to the backend of miner. and miners accept jobs from mining pool. Mining pool receives shares from miners.

For example, BTC mining URL:

  • stratum+tcp://btc.ss.poolin.com:443
  • stratum+tcp://btc.ss.poolin.com:1883
  • stratum+tcp://btc.ss.poolin.com:700

In addition to mine with the stratum mining protocol, you could mine with IP address. When there is a problem with your domain name address, namely the mining address resolution, it is recommended that you temporarily use IP address for mining. (For security and privacy considerations, the server IP address will be regularly updated. If you continue to use IP address for mining, there may be a problem that you cannot connect to mining pool once in a while)

How to find IP address?

1. Enter CMD in the search box and select the “Command Prompt” tool. The premise is that PC’s LAN and miner’s LAN are the same LAN.

2. Enter ping btc.ss.poolin.com to find IP address.

3. Set IP address to with port number of mining pool on the backend URL of miner. Then it is available to mine with IP address (It is recommended to modify the first mining URL ONLY)

*It is recommended that you temporarily use IP address for mining. (For security and privacy considerations, the server IP address will be regularly updated. If you continue to use IP address for mining, there may be a problem that you cannot connect to mining pool once in a while)
